In addition to the pure creation of value stream models (e.g. for documentation purposes), the SimVSM application also creates key figures for the modeled value streams.
The key figures can be divided into static and dynamic key figures.
The app determines static key figures on the basis of object parameters analogous to the work flow of value stream analysis, which were recorded manually with pen and paper.
Thus the current modeling status with corresponding parameter values is used for the calculation of individual characteristic values.
These static parameters are then automatically integrated into the modeling surface and visualized.
For example, a Time line is automatically adapted when parameters are changed with regard to cycle time or the specification of value-adding processes.
Due to the use of exclusively statically stored values, however, these key figures only reflect the parametrized snapshot or a correspondingly averaged average state of a factory or a production segment.
Dynamic key figures, on the other hand, are determined over time and therefore do not only represent a current state.
For the determination of dynamic key figures, an alternative value stream of a project is transferred to the server, where it is mapped using a simulation tool and corresponding simulation objects and automatically simulated over time.
This includes, for example, the physical processing of parts on process objects, the transfer to carriers via transport units, the storage of products or, for example, the interspersion of random processes in the event of malfunctions or rework processes.
This simulative system view provides a much more comprehensive insight into system behavior, especially into different developments over time.
Since the simulation results as dynamic key figures provide far more extensive data than the individual static key figures, the collective display of the corresponding tables and diagrams has been moved to a separate menu item.
